Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman reunite in a steamier second season dropping Nov. 26, with John Stamos and Angel Reese joining.
Netflix is serving The Hunting Wives for Thanksgiving dessert. All eight episodes of season two arrive Thursday, Nov. 26, and the new trailer promises a holiday binge that is not suitable for the family room: more sex, more blood and a reality TV crew circling the East Texas clique at the center of last summer’s surprise hit.
Where Season Two Picks Up

The season one finale left Brittany Snow‘s Sophie frozen out by Malin Akerman‘s Margo, the queen bee of a gun-loving group of conservative housewives. Season two opens with the two on the outs, but per Netflix’s logline, “old secrets and new foes force them back together,” and the trailer makes clear their romance is back on. The new wrinkle is a Real Housewives-style show moving into town, which is a smart way to put a camera on women whose whole lives depend on nobody seeing what they do after dark.
Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery return. The new faces are the bigger story: John Stamos, Cam Gigandet, Dale Dickey, Kim Matula, Branton Box, Alex FitzAlan and WNBA star Angel Reese all join. Reese’s casting alone gives Netflix a sports crossover audience most soapy thrillers never reach.
Why Netflix Already Ordered Season Three

Netflix renewed the show for a third season this month, before a single season two episode aired. That is how confident it is. Season one, which creator Rebecca Cutter adapted from May Cobb’s novel, was originally developed for Starz before landing at Netflix in July 2025. It became the most-watched streaming series in the U.S., spent six weeks in Nielsen’s top 10 for streaming originals and got big enough to earn a Saturday Night Live spoof.
As we wrote at the time of the renewal, this is a show audiences love more than critics do. That gap is exactly what makes it valuable. Critics do not drive Thanksgiving weekend viewing; families home with four days off and a Netflix account do.
Snow, meanwhile, was on the carpet at Saturday’s Academy Museum Gala.
