2026 Emmy Winners: Complete List

‘Widow’s Bay’ swept comedy, ‘The Pitt’ repeated in drama and Matthew Rhys made history at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.

“Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay hosted the TV industry’s biggest night Monday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt led all nominees with 25 nominations and successfully defended its drama series crown. Hacks followed with 24 for its final season, breaking the all-time comedy nomination record previously held by The Bear and The Studio with 23 each, but left with a single major trophy. Apple TV’s horror comedy Widow’s Bay turned 19 nominations into a six-award comedy sweep, while Pluribus took 18 nods into wins for Rhea Seehorn and Vince Gilligan. Netflix’s Beef led the limited field with 16 nominations but lost the top prize to HBO Max’s DTF St. Louis.

Matthew Rhys became the first man ever to win two lead acting categories in the same year, taking limited series for The Beast in Me and comedy for Widow’s Bay. Jean Smart’s win for Hacks was her fifth for the series and eighth overall, tying her for the most Emmy wins by an actress in history.
