Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom got his closest look yet, in a new trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ coming out of D23.
Doctor Doom finally got his real closeup. Marvel released a new look at Robert Downey Jr.’s villain on Friday night, marking his official MCU return since Avengers: Endgame.
Instead of Iron Man’s armor, he’s now wearing Victor Von Doom’s mask, and Marvel is already describing the character as “broken.” The footage backs that up: Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm warns a room full of Avengers just how far Doom has fallen (“I knew he was lost”), and Thor can’t even dent his armor with Stormbreaker.
The real story of the night, though, was Hugh Jackman. He sent in a pre-recorded video with Deadpool audibly coaching him off-camera.
“I’d love to join, and I might be able to convince Ryan to appear in Avengers: Doomsday,”
Jackman said, after being fed the line.
Paired with Ryan Reynolds’ earlier stunt crashing the Comic-Con panel in character, several outlets are now reporting the bit confirms both jack-man’s Wolverine and Reynolds’ Deadpool for the film.
The cast keeps growing regardless: the original 2000s X-Men crew including Sir. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Kelsey Grammer.
Along with the Fantastic Four: First Steps cast, the Thunderbolts cast, plus first-time Avengers franchise appearances from Channing Tatum, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, and others.
