‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Hits $1.67 Billion Worldwide, Crosses $1B Overseas

Spider-man in Columbia Pictures Spider-man™: Brand New Day.

Tom Holland’s latest Spider-Man blockbuster becomes the second-fastest film ever to reach $1 billion at the international box office.

The film added another $381 million globally over the weekend, including $236 million internationally. It remained No. 1 across most of its 67 overseas markets and more than 72,800 screens.

China continues to lead the film’s international performance with $186.7 million to date after adding $29.1 million over the weekend.

India has produced another major milestone. With $52.8 million so far, Brand New Day has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film ever in the market.

The United Kingdom has generated $87.4 million, followed by Mexico with $65.8 million, France with $49.2 million, Brazil with $46.3 million, South Korea with $43.2 million, Australia with $39.1 million, Germany with $37.6 million and Italy with $31.1 million.

Brazil delivered one of the strongest holds among the film’s major territories, declining only 33 percent during its second weekend.

The North American run has been just as significant.

Brand New Day earned approximately $145 million domestically during its second weekend, giving it the third-largest second weekend in North American box-office history. It is one of only eight movies ever to earn more than $100 million during a second weekend.

Its $655 million domestic total after 10 days is also the largest amount any film has earned over its first 10 days of North American release.

Sony’s latest Spider-Man film has now reached a point where $2 billion worldwide is a realistic target rather than a theoretical ceiling.

Only a handful of movies have ever crossed that threshold. Brand New Day would join an exceptionally small group if its current international momentum continues.

The film’s dominance has been interrupted in only a handful of markets.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ took the No. 1 position in South Korea with a $14.5 million opening, while Brand New Day earned $10.8 million there over the weekend. The Spider-Man film also appeared to finish behind local animated release ‘Chiikawa’ in Japan.

That competition has done little to slow the overall theatrical marketplace.

‘The Odyssey’ has now reached approximately $1.1 billion globally, becoming Nolan’s highest-grossing movie. Disney and Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 5’ has climbed to approximately $1.094 billion worldwide, while Universal and Illumination’s ‘Minions & Monsters’ stands at roughly $473.5 million.

The result is an unusually crowded global box office in which multiple films are generating blockbuster-level numbers simultaneously.

Still, Brand New Day is operating at another level.

The film launched with one of the largest global openings ever and has continued breaking records throughout its first 10 days. Its second-weekend performance suggests the initial rush was not simply the product of opening-week anticipation.

Cretton directs from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal among the producers.

With $1.67 billion already banked and strong international holds continuing across many of the world’s largest theatrical markets, the question surrounding ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is quickly shifting.

It is no longer whether the film will rank among 2026’s biggest hits.

It is how high Spider-Man can climb before this run is finished.
