‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 3 Trailer Unleashes War Across Middle-earth as Simon Pegg Joins the Cast

Prime Video’s fantasy epic returns this November with the forging of the One Ring, the War of the Elves and Sauron, and Simon Pegg lending his voice to the Balrog.

Prime Video has unveiled the first trailer for Season 3 of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, offering the biggest glimpse yet at the series’ most pivotal chapter as Sauron begins forging the One Ring and Middle-earth descends into full-scale war.

Debuting during Amazon MGM Studios’ presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, the action-packed trailer confirms that the story is advancing several years beyond the events of Season 2, placing audiences at the height of the legendary War of the Elves and Sauron. With armies mobilizing across Middle-earth, the conflict appears poised to become the most ambitious battle the series has attempted to date.

At the center of the new season is Charlie Vickers’ Sauron, whose campaign for absolute domination takes its most consequential step yet as he forges the One Ring. According to the official synopsis, the Dark Lord seeks to create the legendary artifact in order to tip the war decisively in his favor, bind the peoples of Middle-earth to his will and establish his rule over the realm.

Morfydd Clark returns as Galadriel, once again leading the Elves into battle against Sauron’s growing forces. The trailer showcases massive battlefield sequences, towering creatures and sweeping landscapes that continue to highlight the cinematic scale that has become synonymous with the series.

One of the biggest surprises from Comic-Con came with the announcement that Simon Pegg has joined the cast as the voice of the Balrog. While the fiery creature made its dramatic debut during the show’s first season, Season 3 will mark the first time the ancient monster speaks, adding another iconic character to the fantasy veteran’s résumé.

The new season premieres globally on Nov. 11 and continues one of Prime Video’s biggest original franchises. ‘The Rings of Power’ remains the streamer’s largest television premiere ever, while its second season ranks among Prime Video’s five most-watched returning series.

Behind the camera, showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay return alongside executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell and Charlotte Brändström, who also directs episodes this season. The series continues to be produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

The future of the franchise also appears secure beyond Season 3. Reports indicate development is already underway on a fourth season, signaling Amazon’s continued long-term investment in adapting the Second Age of J.R.R. Tolkien’s mythology.

With the forging of the One Ring finally taking center stage, Season 3 looks set to bring one of Middle-earth’s defining legends to the screen in what could be the series’ most consequential chapter yet.
