Billy Bob Thornton returns alongside new cast member Sam Elliott as Paramount+ readies Landman Season 2 for a November debut.

Landman is coming back sooner than expected.

Taylor Sheridan’s Texas oil dramedy has secured a release date for its sophomore season, arriving Sunday, Nov. 16 on Paramount+. The quick turnaround — just 10 months after its debut — underscores Sheridan’s ability to keep his expanding slate moving at a near-clockwork pace, even as flagship Yellowstone once famously struggled to stay on schedule.

Season 2 sees Billy Bob Thornton reprise his Golden Globe–nominated role as Tommy Norris, a fixer in the West Texas oil business, with Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, and Ali Larter also returning. Joining them this season is Sam Elliott, reuniting with Sheridan after his Emmy-nominated turn in 1883.

The show’s first season became Paramount+’s most-watched original, racking up 35 million global streaming viewers. With Season 2 set to premiere less than two months after Sheridan’s Tulsa King returns with Season 3 (Sept. 21), the prolific creator continues to dominate the platform’s lineup.

Landman is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs,” exploring the intersections of power, profit, and climate change in West Texas boomtowns. The drama contrasts the lives of roughnecks on the rigs with the billionaire wildcatters above them, offering a story both intimate and sweeping in scope.

In addition to Thornton, the ensemble includes Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore. Elliott’s casting adds another layer of prestige to Sheridan’s ever-growing television universe.
