‘Adolescence’ Dominates BAFTA TV Awards With Four Wins Including Best Limited Series and Lead Actor for Stephen Graham

BAFTA

Netflix’s Adolescence emerges as the night’s biggest winner at the BAFTA TV Awards, securing four major honors including Limited Series and Lead Actor for Stephen Graham.

Adolescence emerged as the defining force of this year’s BAFTA TV Awards, sweeping four major categories and solidifying its status as one of the most impactful British television productions in recent years. More than a year after its debut on Netflix, the one-shot limited series continues to extend its awards momentum, this time dominating on home soil at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

The Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne-created series won Best Limited Drama, alongside acting honors for Graham in Leading Actor, Owen Cooper in Supporting Actor, and Christine Tremarco in Supporting Actress. The wins cap a sustained awards run that began with the show’s breakout success on Netflix, where it became both a critical standout and a global streaming phenomenon.

The series’ technical ambition and narrative structure — particularly its continuous single-take format — have remained central to its awards recognition, with BAFTA voters reaffirming its impact across both performance and craft categories. The show’s ability to translate an experimental storytelling approach into mainstream emotional resonance has positioned it as one of the defining limited series of its era.

Elsewhere on the night, Code of Silence took Drama Series, while The Celebrity Traitors claimed the public-voted Memorable Moment Award, continuing the dominance of unscripted formats in audience-driven categories. In comedy, Steve Coogan won Leading Actor for How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge), while Katherine Parkinson took Leading Actress for Here We Go.

International categories also reflected a strong transatlantic presence, with The Studio earning Best International Series. Seth Rogen used his acceptance speech to dedicate the win to the late Catherine O’Hara, underscoring the emotional tone that ran through several of the evening’s victories.

The BAFTA TV Awards also recognized Go Back to Where You Came From in Factual Entertainment, Channel 4 News: Israel-Iran: The Twelve Day War in News Coverage, and Gaza: Doctors Under Attack in Current Affairs, highlighting the continued importance of hard-hitting journalism within the ceremony’s broader scope.

In scripted categories, Amandaland won Scripted Comedy, while EastEnders took the Soap award. Reality programming was led by The Celebrity Traitors, and Last One Laughing continued its strong run with a win in Entertainment.

Across the night, Adolescence remained the most awarded single title, reinforcing its rare position as a limited series that achieved both critical acclaim and sustained industry recognition across multiple award cycles.

The BAFTA TV Awards continue to function as a key barometer for British television prestige, and this year’s results underscored a continued balance between established long-running formats and newer, high-impact limited series storytelling.
