Apple Unveils First Look at Jonah Hill’s Dark Comedy ‘Outcome,’ Starring Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz

Jonah Hill goes inward with a Hollywood satire about image, guilt, and the cost of staying beloved.

Apple Original Films has unveiled the first-look images and release date for Outcome, a dark comedy written and directed by Jonah Hill, set to premiere globally on Apple TV on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Revealed during the 2026 Apple TV Press Day, the film stars Keanu Reeves as Reef Hawk, a universally adored Hollywood movie star whose carefully curated public image begins to collapse after he’s extorted with a mysterious video that threatens to end his career. The crisis forces Reef into an unflinching reckoning with his past — and the people he may have hurt along the way.

Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer co-star as Reef’s lifelong best friends, Kyle and Xander, while Hill appears onscreen as Ira, a crisis lawyer attempting to manage both the scandal and Reef’s unraveling sense of self. Rather than chasing redemption through spectacle, Outcome frames Reef’s journey as something messier and more introspective — part spiritual cleanup, part nostalgic excavation.

Hill, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ezra Woods, directs the film with an emphasis on interiority over punchlines. The story unfolds as a soul-searching odyssey through Reef’s memories, relationships, and moral blind spots, positioning Outcome as a dark comedy less interested in skewering celebrity than interrogating the emotional cost of maintaining it.

The ensemble cast is stacked with unexpected and eclectic appearances, including Martin Scorsese, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Kaia Gerber, Ivy Wolk, and more — reinforcing the film’s meta relationship with Hollywood mythmaking.

Outcome is produced by Hill alongside Matt Dines and Alison Goodwin under Hill’s Strong Baby banner, with Adam Merims serving as executive producer. The project hails from Apple Studios and continues Apple Original Films’ push into filmmaker-driven, actor-led prestige features that blur genre lines.

With its mix of existential comedy, industry satire, and deeply personal storytelling, Outcome positions Hill in a more reflective creative space — one that builds on his recent directorial work while expanding his voice as a filmmaker willing to examine the contradictions of fame from the inside out.
