Apple TV+ is betting big on suburban chaos, renewing Your Friends & Neighbors for a third season ahead of its Season 2 premiere this spring.
Apple TV+ is doubling down on Your Friends & Neighbors, renewing the Jon Hamm–led drama for a third season before Season 2 has even premiered.
The early renewal arrives alongside the release of a brief teaser for Season 2, which is set to debut April 3 on Apple TV+, with new episodes rolling out weekly on Fridays through June 5. The move signals strong internal confidence in the series, which Apple previously described as one of its top-performing dramas following its debut last year.
Season 2 finds Hamm’s Andrew Cooper — known to those around him simply as Coop — leaning further into criminality rather than retreating from it. After narrowly avoiding a prison sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, Coop opts to escalate his illicit activities, pushing the show deeper into its exploration of suburban rot, entitlement, and moral compromise.

The upcoming season also introduces a major new wildcard: James Marsden, who joins the cast as a mysterious new neighbor whose arrival threatens to expose Coop’s carefully managed double life and put his family directly in harm’s way. The addition sharpens the show’s central tension, turning quiet cul-de-sacs into battlegrounds of surveillance, paranoia, and buried secrets.

The series is created by Jonathan Tropper, who serves as showrunner, executive producer, and director under his overall deal with Apple TV+. Hamm also executive produces alongside Connie Tavel, Craig Gillespie, Jamie Rosengard, Lori Keith Douglas, and Stephanie Laing, who directs the majority of Season 2 episodes.
POPULAR ON THE CINEMA GROUP
Originally premiering in April 2025, Your Friends & Neighbors received its Season 2 order months before its first season even aired — a pattern Apple appears to be repeating with this latest renewal. The announcement follows closely on the streamer’s recent early pickup of Shrinking for a third season, reinforcing Apple TV+’s strategy of committing early to stable, star-driven originals with strong retention value.
With Season 3 already locked in and Season 2 poised to raise the stakes, Your Friends & Neighbors is quietly becoming one of Apple TV+’s most durable prestige plays — a suburban thriller that thrives less on spectacle than on the slow, unnerving collapse of respectability.
