The Television Academy

TV’s biggest night is underway — follow along as we update the winners across drama, comedy, limited series, and more.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are officially underway, broadcasting live from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater with comedian Nate Bargatze serving as host. Airing coast-to-coast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, the ceremony arrives after a turbulent few years for television, but 2025 has proven to be one of the most competitive Emmy seasons in recent memory.

Apple TV+’s Severance leads the field with a staggering 27 nominations — including Best Drama Series — up against a stacked lineup of prestige favorites: Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, The Pitt, Slow Horses, and The White Lotus. HBO’s The Penguin follows closely with 24 nods, while The Studio and The White Lotus each secured 23. The Last of Us earned 16 nominations, while Andor and Hacks landed 14 apiece. Newcomers like Adolescence, The Bear, and The Pitt all racked up 13 nominations, with HBO and Max once again dominating the overall network tally.

The Studio, HBO’s inside-Hollywood satire, tied the all-time record for most comedy nominations in a single year — matching The Bear’s breakout haul in 2024. It will face off for Best Comedy Series alongside Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking, and What We Do in the Shadows.

Presenters for the night include Stephen Colbert, Sydney Sweeney, and beloved duos like Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) and Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Wednesday), with a special Law & Order cast reunion also set to appear.

Prior to the primetime broadcast, the Creative Arts Emmys took place on September 6 and 7, honoring achievements in technical and artistic categories. Those winners can be viewed here. Below, The Cinema Group will be updating every major award live as it’s announced — refresh throughout the night for real-time results.
