The next chapter in the hit horror franchise arrives in theaters July 9, 2027.
John Krasinski is officially returning to the director’s chair for A Quiet Place Part III, with Paramount Pictures setting a theatrical release date of July 9, 2027. The sequel marks the continuation of one of the most commercially successful original horror franchises of the past decade — and the first Quiet Place entry since the 2024 spin-off, A Quiet Place: Day One.
While casting has not yet been confirmed, fans are eager to see whether Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds will reprise their roles. Given the fate of Krasinski’s character in the original film, his return is strictly behind the camera. Plot specifics remain under wraps, though it’s safe to assume the franchise will once again pit human survivors against blind extraterrestrial predators that hunt by sound.
Krasinski will direct, write, and produce the third installment, reuniting with producing partner Allyson Seeger under their Sunday Night banner. Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller return via Platinum Dunes, continuing their long-standing collaboration with the franchise. Paramount has confirmed the project will be a direct sequel to A Quiet Place Part II, rather than a continuation of the recent spin-off.
Since launching with the sleeper hit A Quiet Place in 2018, the franchise has grossed over $900 million globally, proving that high-concept horror built on suspense and silence can break box office records. The second film expanded on the mythos with a wider cast and deeper backstory, while Day One shifted focus to a new set of characters surviving the early days of the invasion.
Krasinski, who began his career as Jim Halpert on NBC’s The Office, has become a multifaceted force in Hollywood. In addition to helming the Quiet Place films, he directed and starred in IF for Paramount, though the family film underperformed at the box office. On screen, Krasinski led Amazon’s Jack Ryan and co-starred in titles like 13 Hours, Promised Land, and It’s Complicated. Most recently, he starred alongside Natalie Portman in Apple Original Films’ Fountain of Youth.

The announcement of Krasinski’s return came via his Instagram, timed with the news that Paramount Global is finalizing its merger with Skydance Media. The major acquisition is expected to close next week, and A Quiet Place Part III may end up being one of the first franchise tentpoles launched under the studio’s new regime.
Whether this third installment concludes the Abbott family saga or opens up a wider universe of sound-hunted survival stories remains to be seen — but one thing’s for sure: audiences will once again be holding their breath.
