Stephen Kalyn Joins Lionsgate’s ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ Sequel

Stephen Kalyn plays Sweeney’s new love interest in Lionsgate’s upcoming sequel ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’

Off Campus breakout Stephen Kalyn has closed a deal to join Lionsgate’s The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to 2025’s The Housemaid. Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Snow, and Paul Anthony Kelly are also on board, with Paul Feig returning to direct.

Kalyn will play Brock Cunningham, a lawyer who becomes romantically involved with Sydney Sweeney’s Millie Calloway as she tries to rebuild a normal life, unaware of her criminal past.

Michele Morrone is also confirmed to return as Enzo Accardi, reprising his role from the first film. Producers include Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman, Pretty Dangerous Pictures’ Laura Fischer and Feig, and Sweeney through her Honey Trap banner.

What The Housemaid’s Secret Is Actually About?

In the sequel Sydney Sweeney’s Millie takes a new housekeeping job. This time for a wealthy CEO named Douglas Garrick, played by Kelly, and his wife, played by Dunst, a woman Millie is never allowed to see in person. She soon discovers what’s behind the locked door separating her from her employer, uncovering secrets darker than her own.

Brittany Snow plays Marybeth, a receptionist at Garrick’s company. The film is based on Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel, the second book in her trilogy.

Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first book, returns to write the sequel. Carly Elter, who oversaw the original film for Hidden Pictures, returns as executive producer alongside Alex Young.

Honey Trap’s Kaylee McGregor co-produces. Chelsea Kujawa and Maria Ascanio are overseeing the film for Lionsgate, with Robert Melnik negotiating Kalyn’s deal on the studio’s behalf.

A Sequel Built On Real Box Office Momentum

The Housemaid became a genuine hit for Lionsgate, grossing more than $400 million worldwide on a $35 million budget. The film currently holds a 74% critics’ score and 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Feig has spoken about the decision to continue Millie’s story: “It’s been thrilling to see audiences around the world fall in love with The Housemaid and the incredible work of our talented cast and crew. We’re lucky that Freida McFadden has already extended Millie’s journey on the page.”

The Housemaid’s Secret opens in theaters December 17, 2027.

Kalyn’s Breakout Continues

Kalyn is best known for his breakout role on Amazon Prime Video’s global hit series Off Campus, in addition to his stints on Gen V, Cruel Intentions, and Motorheads.

He’s also set to lead Season 2 of Off Campus, with his character Dean Di Laurentis and Mika Abdalla’s Allie Hayes becoming the show’s central couple. Between that and this new film, the 28-year-old actor is heading into a genuinely big stretch.

He’s represented by CAA, Play Management, Thruline Entertainment, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
