Labrinth Says “F*ck Euphoria” in Cryptic Instagram Post as He Declares: “I’m Done With This Industry”

The Emmy-winning composer behind HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ appears to distance himself from the hit series, Columbia Records and the industry at large in a late-night social media post.

Labrinth has set off fresh questions about his future with Euphoria after posting a blunt, profanity-filled message to Instagram that appeared to target both the HBO drama and his record label.

Late last night, the British musician shared a statement declaring, “I’m done with this industry,” before escalating the message with a pair of pointed sign-offs. “Fuck Columbia,” he wrote, referencing his current label, Columbia Records. The post then ended with an even more direct line aimed at the HBO series he has helped define sonically since its debut: “Double Fuck Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night.”

The post was shared without any further caption or clarification, leaving fans and industry observers to parse whether the message reflects a broader frustration with the music business, a direct split from the show, or something else entirely. At the time of publishing, neither Labrinth’s team nor HBO had publicly clarified the meaning behind the statement.

The timing is especially striking given how closely Labrinth has been tied to Euphoria from the beginning. His work on the series has been one of its most recognizable creative signatures, shaping the show’s atmosphere with a score that became as emotionally essential to the drama as its performances and visuals. He also won an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “All for Us,” one of the breakout songs associated with the series.

Just this week, Labrinth was also present at Balenciaga’s Winter 2026 show in Paris, where Euphoria creator Sam Levinson reportedly teased footage from the show’s long-awaited third season. That appearance made the Instagram post feel all the more abrupt, particularly because HBO had previously announced that Labrinth would return to score Season 3 alongside Hans Zimmer.

The third season of Euphoria is currently expected to premiere on April 12. The upcoming eight-episode run will reportedly feature a time jump that moves the characters beyond high school and is widely expected to serve as the closing chapter of the story. Zendaya returns as Rue Bennett, joined by cast members including Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Dominic Fike and Maude Apatow. Colman Domingo is also set to return as a guest star, while Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been elevated to series regulars.

The new season will also introduce additional cast members including Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Toby Wallace, giving the final stretch of the series an even larger ensemble. Whether Labrinth remains part of that creative lineup now appears far less certain.

POPULAR ON THE CINEMA GROUP

Given how central his music has been to Euphoria’s identity, any real break between Labrinth and the show would be more than just behind-the-scenes drama. It would mark a meaningful shift in the DNA of one of HBO’s most talked-about series.

For now, all anyone has is the post — and the fallout it’s already beginning to generate.
