What’s New on HBO Max in March 2026: ‘DTF St. Louis,’ ‘Rooster,’ ‘The Comeback’ and More
HBO Max loads up March with buzzy originals, major movie drops, and a packed March Madness slate.
HBO Max is stacking its March 2026 lineup with a mix of high-profile originals, returning fan favorites, and notable film additions designed to keep subscribers glued to the platform as spring approaches. From prestige limited series and sharp new comedies to sports programming and library favorites, the month signals a confident programming push from Warner Bros. Discovery.
Leading the charge is the HBO Original limited series DTF St. Louis, debuting March 1. The seven-episode drama centers on a messy middle-age love triangle that spirals into deadly consequences, with a cast anchored by Jason Bateman, David Harbour, and Linda Cardellini. Episodes will roll out weekly, positioning the show as one of the platform’s key watercooler plays heading into the spring television cycle.
The following week brings another major debut with the HBO Original comedy Rooster on March 8. Starring Steve Carell alongside Danielle Deadwyler and Phil Dunster, the college-set comedy explores the complicated relationship between an author and his daughter. With Bill Lawrence attached as co-showrunner, the series arrives with strong pedigree and clear mainstream appeal.
March also marks the long-awaited return of The Comeback. The Lisa Kudrow comedy officially launches its third and final season on March 22, more than a decade after season two. The revival signals HBO Max’s continued interest in legacy IP that can drive both nostalgia and prestige conversation.
On the documentary front, Fukushima: A Nuclear Nightmare premieres March 10, revisiting the devastating 2011 disaster that threatened one of the world’s largest metropolitan regions. Later in the month, the five-part series Born to Bowl (March 16) dives into the colorful world of professional bowling, following top competitors as they chase glory on the PBA Tour.
Film additions are equally notable. The spoof comedy Fackham Hall arrives March 6, blending Downton Abbey-style aristocratic drama with broad comedic chaos. Toward the end of the month, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina hits the platform March 27, starring Ana de Armas as an assassin in training during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The film is expected to draw strong action-fan engagement.
Beyond originals, HBO Max is padding the library with an eclectic mix of modern favorites and classics, including Everything Everywhere All at Once, Little Miss Sunshine, Call Me by Your Name, Memento, and the original Spider-Man trilogy. The strategy reflects the platform’s continued emphasis on deep catalog value alongside splashy premieres.
Sports will also play a major role in March engagement. HBO Max is heavily promoting its March Madness coverage, promising multiview streaming, key-moment replays, and enhanced in-player features throughout the tournament window. The service will carry the action from the First Four through the Elite Eight, underscoring Warner Bros. Discovery’s growing push into premium live sports streaming.
The broader takeaway is clear: HBO Max is aiming for breadth and stickiness. With prestige originals, recognizable franchises, live sports, and comfort-food catalog titles all landing in the same month, the streamer is positioning March 2026 as a high-engagement period designed to reduce churn and boost weekly viewing habits.
For subscribers — and for competitors watching closely — March on HBO Max looks anything but quiet.
