On Thursday, January 22, the Academy will reveal the 2026 Oscar nominations live from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, with Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks and actor Lewis Pullman announcing nominees across all 24 categories. The nominations livestream begins Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m. PT / 8:30 a.m. ET and will stream globally on the Academy’s official platforms, including Oscars.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s social channels on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.


The presentation will also air on ABC’s Good Morning America and stream on ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu, making it easy to watch whether you’re on a laptop, phone, or half-awake with coffee in hand.

What Time Do the Oscar Nominations Start?

The 2026 Oscar nominations begin at 5:30 a.m. PT and are revealed in two waves.


The first group of categories starts at 5:30 a.m. PT, followed by the second batch at 5:41 a.m. PT, including Best Picture.

The Academy will announce nominees in two rounds:


At 5:30 a.m. PT, Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman will reveal nominees for the following categories: supporting actor, supporting actress, animated short film, costume design, live action short film, makeup and hairstyling, original score, adapted screenplay, and original screenplay.


At 5:41 a.m. PT, they’ll announce nominees for lead actor, lead actress, animated feature film, best picture, casting, cinematography, directing, documentary feature, documentary short, film editing, international feature, original song, production design, sound, and visual effects.

What Happens After Nominations Morning?

Once the nominations are set, the Oscar race enters its most intense phase. Final voting for the Academy Awards begins February 26 and runs through March 5.


The 98th Academy Awards will take place Sunday, March 15, airing live on ABC and streaming on Hulu from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT, with Conan O’Brien set to host.
