Broadcast, AI, Creator Economy, and Sports Media Converge at the Javits Center as NAB Honors Mike McVay with 2025 National Radio Award

Washington, D.C. — October 21, 2025 — The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has announced full programming details for the 2025 NAB Show New York, returning October 22–23 to the Javits Center. Recognized as the East Coast’s leading event for media, entertainment, and brand storytelling, this year’s show will spotlight AI-driven content creation, sports media innovation, and the evolving creator economy — uniting professionals from broadcast, film, digital, and streaming sectors.


Ahead of the show, NAB will honor radio industry veteran Mike McVay with the 2025 NAB National Radio Award, presented at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards on October 21 at the Edison Ballroom.

Keynotes: Building Fandom and Creator Communities

With global anticipation building ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the show opens October 22 with a keynote featuring Catherine Newman, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at the U.S. Soccer Federation, and David Wright, the Federation’s Chief Commercial Officer. Together, they will discuss media strategy, partnerships, and the art of building fandom in a hyper-saturated sports landscape.


On October 23, Alessandra Catanese, CEO of Smosh, headlines the second day with a keynote exploring how content creators and fan communities are redefining entertainment business models through exclusive access, live interaction, and digital monetization.


New for 2025: The Future of Journalism and Creator Day

The Future of Journalism track (Oct. 22) will investigate how AI and automation are transforming newsrooms and reshaping trust in information. Featured speakers include:



Oliver Darcy (Status), Sara Fischer (Axios), Amy Freeze (AmyFreeze.AI), Thomas Germain (BBC Studios), Curtis LeGeyt (NAB), and Mark Lukasiewicz (Hofstra University).



Creator Day (Oct. 23) turns the spotlight on the creator economy’s expanding role in entertainment, news, and sports. Speakers include Lauren Inganamort (LTK), Michael Calvin Jones (Wasserman Creators), and Sadaf Kazmi(Audible). The session will also feature Puff Media, presenting live demonstrations of TikTok’s new live shopping features, connecting creators, brands, and partners in real time.

  • Radio + Podcast Interactive Forum (Oct. 22): AI’s role in programming, monetization, and next-gen audience engagement.

  • Local TV Strategies (Oct. 22): A day-long summit in partnership with TVNewsCheck, featuring leaders from Graham Media, Scripps, Sinclair, Tegna, Nexstar, and Fox Corp.

  • Post|Production World New York (Oct. 22–23): Advanced creative training for editors, producers, and digital storytellers in partnership with Future Media Conferences.

Over 222 exhibitors, including Avid, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Fujifilm, Dell Technologies, Panasonic Connect, and Ross Video, will be showcased on the 2025 show floor — with 41 first-time exhibitors joining the lineup.




Radio Veteran Mike McVay to Receive the 2025 NAB National Radio Award


On National Radio Day, NAB announced that Mike McVay, President of McVay Media, will receive the 2025 NAB National Radio Award during the Marconi Radio Awards at NAB Show New York.



“NAB is thrilled to recognize Mike for his remarkable contributions to radio over the past four decades,” said Curtis LeGeyt, NAB President and CEO. “Mike’s deep expertise, creative vision, and commitment to excellence have shaped countless careers, inspired new generations, and driven innovation across the audio industry.”



A revered strategist and talent coach, McVay has guided content creation and programming across broadcast, podcasting, and streaming. As former EVP of Content and Programming for Cumulus Media and Westwood One, he oversaw more than 500 stations and national network properties, helping to develop and launch major syndicated programs like Delilahand The John Tesh Show.

McVay’s accolades include his upcoming induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame (2025), recognition as a 2024 Giant of Broadcasting, and numerous programming and leadership honors from Radio Ink, R&R, and the Broadcasters Foundation of America.



He will be honored October 21, 2025, at the Marconi Awards Dinner, presented by Xperi, held at the Edison Ballroomon the eve of NAB Show New York.
