‘Poker Face’ Season 2 Trailer Introduces New Celebrity Suspects, May Premiere Date on Peacock
Charlie Cale is back behind the wheel—and back in the thick of crime-solving chaos. Peacock has officially dropped the trailer for Season 2 of Poker Face, revealing a fresh lineup of celebrity guest stars and confirming a May 8 premiere date.
Created by Rian Johnson and headlined by the ever-watchable Natasha Lyonne, the critically acclaimed mystery-of-the-week series returns with a signature blend of quirky humor, sharp writing, and episodic whodunits. This time, the season kicks off with three episodes on premiere day, followed by a new installment every Thursday.
In Poker Face, Lyonne stars as Charlie Cale, a scrappy drifter with an uncanny ability to detect lies. Roaming the American backroads in her trusty Plymouth Barracuda, Charlie stumbles into bizarre situations and unearths unsolved murders wherever she goes. Season 2 takes that conceit to new heights—from small-town baseball fields and big-box stores to funeral homes and alligator farms.
And it wouldn’t be Poker Face without a guest star-studded slate. Among this season’s standouts: Cynthia Erivo plays sextuplets (yes, six roles), while John Mulaney shows up as an FBI agent. Also appearing are Adrienne C. Moore, Alia Shawkat, Awkwafina, Ben Marshall, B.J. Novak, Carol Kane, Method Man, Corey Hawkins, David Krumholtz, GaTa, Ego Nwodim, Gaby Hoffmann, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Giancarlo Esposito.
The star power doesn’t end there. Other guest stars include Haley Joel Osment, Jason Ritter, John Cho, Justin Theroux, Kathrine Narducci, Katie Holmes, Kevin Corrigan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Tom, Lili Taylor, Margo Martindale, Melanie Lynskey, Natasha Leggero, Patti Harrison, Rhea Perlman, Richard Kind, Sam Richardson, Sherry Cola, Simon Helberg, Simon Rex, and Taylor Schilling.
“Charlie Cale is back on the run, and in Season 2 we’ve taken her journey to the next level—one murder mystery at a time,” teased Johnson and Lyonne in a joint statement. “From minor league baseball to grade school talent shows, she navigates her crime-solving existential road trip with deadpan wit, human empathy, and her signature lie-detecting ability.”
Poker Face scored four Emmy nominations for its first season, taking home the win for Judith Light’s guest appearance. The show is executive produced by Tony Tost, who serves as showrunner, alongside Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, and the Zuckerman sisters, Nora and Lilla. The series is produced by T-Street, Animal Pictures, and MRC.
