White will voice the son of Jabba the Hutt,

joining a cast that includes Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.

Rotta, first introduced in The Clone Wars movie (2008), is a familiar name to Star Wars fans. This marks White’s first venture into the Star Wars galaxy, joining an already impressive cast that includes Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.

The film is directed by Jon Favreau, the creative architect behind The Mandalorian Disney+ series, and is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. The Mandalorian & Grogu will spin off from the wildly successful streaming series that cemented Baby Yoda (Grogu) as a cultural phenomenon and redefined Star Wars for a new generation.

This feature is especially notable as it marks the first theatrical Star Wars release since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Produced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and chief creative officer Dave Filoni, the movie promises to expand on the lore and emotional storytelling that made The Mandalorian a flagship series.

Jeremy Allen White’s rise to prominence began with Showtime’s Shameless, but it was his acclaimed performance in FX’s The Bear that catapulted him to the A-list. White has become synonymous with intense, layered roles, and The Mandalorian & Grogu gives him the opportunity to bring his talents to voice acting. Upcoming for White is the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me.

Jeremy Allen White is repped by WME, Entertainment 360 and Hansen Jacobson.
