Tom Holland has officially confirmed that another installment of the Spider-Man franchise is on its way. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Holland revealed that Spider-Man 4 is set to begin filming next summer.

"It's happening," the actor shared enthusiastically with Fallon. "Next summer we start shooting. Everything's good to go. We're nearly there. It's super exciting. Yeah, I can't wait." With that, Holland put any doubts to rest — fans can look forward to Spider-Man swinging back into action soon.

Appearing on Good Morning America the following day, Holland provided more details. "The idea is crazy. It's a little different from anything we've done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it," he teased. The new film is expected to take Spider-Man on a journey unlike any other, with some fresh narrative twists designed to keep audiences captivated.

Holland has also shared that he and Zendaya have already read drafts of the script for Spider-Man 4, which has been written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. "I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me," Holland noted on the Rich Roll Podcast. "Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and at times we were bouncing around the living room like, 'This is a real movie worthy of the fans' respect.' There's still a few things we need to figure out, but it's exciting."

The latest installment will be helmed by director Destin Daniel Cretton, who will take over the franchise from Jon Watts, who directed the previous three Spider-Man films starring Holland. Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is expected to bring his own unique vision to the beloved franchise.

While Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with the world forgetting that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, including his love interest MJ (played by Zendaya), the direction of the upcoming film is still under wraps. However, the excitement expressed by Holland and Zendaya hints at a compelling storyline that promises to meet fan expectations.

Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon previously starred together in the three Spider-Man movies: Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The three actors have become closely associated with their respective characters, with fans looking forward to their chemistry on screen once again.

In addition to the excitement around Spider-Man 4, Holland is also set to star in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, alongside Matt Damon. "When the opportunity came in, it was the phone call of a lifetime," Holland said of being cast in Nolan's movie. "It was reminiscent of getting the call about Spider-Man 10 years ago. It's an amazing thing for me. I'm super proud and really, really excited."

The anticipation for Spider-Man 4 continues to build as the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands. With the promise of a new storyline, a talented new director, and the beloved cast returning, fans can expect something truly special when Holland's Spider-Man takes to the streets once more.
